It's the members of the club - any club , but in particular this club that make a club what it is.
The PSLRA is known across the country as a club that is dedicated to the Labrador breed,
to it's future and to it's caretakers - us.
We are proud to recognize each year several members who go above and beyond to
support the club, it's members, and the Labrador breed.
Darlene Pado, 2005 Member of the Year:
As our club Treasurer, Darlene is a dedicated and careful steward of our club's resources. She is involved in virtually everything the club does. She keeps detailed records of our financial status, keeps track of our budget, our assets and liabilities, our income and expenses, pays all of our bills, and makes sure nothing slips through the cracks. Not only does Darlene keep track of our finances, she also is an active Board Member, and has volunteered at all of our club events.
She competes with her two dogs, Riley and Murphy, in field, obedience and conformation, and has earned many titles. She can always be found at ringside supporting other club members. Darlene's dedication and hard work make her a well-deserving Member of the Year.

Kristi Clark, 2005 President's Award
Kristi Clark was the Chairperson for both our Match and Spring Hunt Test. These were two big responsibilities that required considerable time and effort to plan, organize and run. Kristi took on these responsibilities enthusiastically.
In addition to these two big jobs Kristi is an active Board Member and has worked as a volunteer at all of our club events, even when she was not competing. Wherever there is a need at an event you will find Kristi saying "I'll do that!" and before you know it the job is done. She is one of those people who are always there when you need her.
Kristi has four Labradors, Amber, Jet, KC and Jade. She competes with them in field, agility, obedience and conformation and has earned many titles. Thanks to Kristi for working hard all year long playing a key role in so many of our club events.
Marlys Swanson, 2005 President's Award
Marlys Swanson is our Chairperson for Puppy Referral. She keeps our litter listings up to date and accurate, which requires continual attentiveness. It is through her efforts that puppy buyers and breeders initially get connected.
In addition to this big and ongoing responsibility Marlys has also been an active Board Member and has worked as a volunteer at all of our club events, even when she was not competing. Throughout the year Marlys has been pitching in for our club, cheerfully and dependably taking on jobs and filling in the gaps where things needed to be done.
Marlys has three Labradors, Penny, Emma and Koda. She competes with them in field, agility, obedience and conformation and has earned many titles. Thanks to Marlys for working hard all year making our club events successful and for providing that important link to our club for people who want the joy of a Labrador puppy.
Ron Perry, 2005 Volunteer of the Year
Ron Perry, our club Vice President, Chair Person for publicity, and volunteer extraordinaire, is our first Volunteer of the Year. Ron has played a key role in virtually everything the club has done in the past year, either in the planning, organizing, or the doing, and often all three. His experience and knowledge about Labradors, performance events, and about how our club works make him an extremely valuable resource.
Ron has three Labradors, Alex, Tara and Nick. He competes with them in field, obedience and conformation and has recently taken on rally obedience. They have earned many titles, including the All Around Award. Thanks to Ron for his commitment and dedication to PSLRA.
