About the PSLRA Education Booth:

Every year PSLRA has a very informative educational booth at the Seattle Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show.  This is another great opportunity for the Club to educate the public about our wonderful Labrador Retriever breed, including sharing details about the breed, and discussing the breed standard.

  • The show runs from Saturday, March 10th from 8:00 am to Sunday, March 11th at 5:00 pm.
  • The PSLRA Seattle Kennel Club Education Booth volunteer shifts average about 2 hours each.
  • Morning, afternoon, and late afternoon shifts are available.

The Booth provides show attendees a chance to meet representatives of the Labrador Retriever Breed, ask questions and get up close and personal with the dogs.

PSLRA provides printed information about our Club.  The materials range from the Labrador Retriever as a breed, how to join PSLRA, and the current Breeder’s List and Litter Listing.

If your Volunteer shift is scheduled at the same time as your Conformation or Obedience ring time, the Club understands that the booth may not have a volunteer present at that time.  Once your ring time is complete, and if there is still time remaining in your Volunteer shift, please return to the PSLRA booth to complete your scheduled Volunteer assignment.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Willingness to work at least a 2 hour shift in the PSLRA Educational Booth.
    • See above comments regarding scheduled assignment conflicting with your ring time.
  • We try to get enough volunteers to have two people in the booth at the same time.
  • Volunteers must be comfortable discussing the Labrador Retriever breed, the breed standard and answering general questions about the breed.
  • Your personal Labradors are welcome to attend/participant in the booth, and must be at least 6 months of age to be present at the event.
  • Dogs need to be well socialized/mannered, with both people and other dogs.
    • The show is attended by many people of all ages, including families with small children who will want to pet your dog.
    • Other dogs may be present in the PSLRA Educational Booth, so dogs need to be comfortable interacting with dogs they may not know.
  • You and your dog do not have to be entered in the show to volunteer to help in the PSLRA Educational Booth.
    • If you are not entered in the show, and would still like to volunteer, please let Jill Mahoney and Kristen Reiter know in advance.
    • Jill Mahoney will work with the SKC Event Chair to make arrangements for you and your dog to enter the venue.
  • Chairs will be provided in the booth. Please bring any snacks or drinks you and your dog may need during your volunteer assignment.
  • All volunteers for the PSLRA Booth are responsible for paying for their own parking at the event.
  • Canine Influenza (CI): Please be aware that Canine Influenza or Dog Flu, is a highly contagious viral infection affecting dogs.  Dogs in close contact with infected dogs in places such as kennels, groomers, day care facilities, performance events, etc. are at increased risk of infection.
  • Please Note:  If you volunteer to help at the PSLRA Educational Booth, please commit to participating and do not cancel at the last minute.
